Max Homa Wins the Wells Fargo Championship

Max Homa became a two-time Wells Fargo Championship winner this weekend as he remained the last man standing at a very wet and cold TPC Potomac. Max’s first Wells Fargo win came in 2019 when he won the tournament at its usual host course, Quail Hollow which is currently preparing for the upcoming President’s Cup. In the words of Homa, “I care about nothing more than making that President’s Cup team, so I really hope Captain Davis Love III was watching today.” This win is his fourth on the PGA Tour and it’s clear that his confidence is higher than ever. We expect to see him at the top of the leaderboard consistently in the near future. What do you think?

The Dubai Port World Tour

In the most recent news from the DP World Tour, at least 40 players have requested to be released to play in the first LIV Golf Invitational Series. This list included names like Lee Westwood, Phil Mickelson, Martin Kaymer, and Sergio Garcia. Garcia had no problem voicing his opinion over the weekend when an issue with a rules official regarding the time frame that the timer for him to search for a lost ball was started. This led to Garcia saying, “I can’t wait to leave this tour” as he argued back and forth with the official. For someone who has earned over $50 million on the PGA Tour, this seems like a surprising take. Do you think Sergio and players alike will find the success and gratification they’re looking for in a rival tour?

A Phil Mickelson Biography

The Phil Mickelson saga continued recently in the form of an unauthorized biography written by Alan Shipnuck that is expected to be released in the near future. The book titled, Phil: The Rip-Roaring (and Unauthorized!) Biography of Golf’s Most Colorful Superstar is expected to bring us never before heard stories of Phil which include him losing an excess of over $40 million in the span of a few years due to his wild gambling habit and the mysterious end to his relationship with long-time caddie, Bones Mackay. This book seems like more hype than it will really be worth but we’re interested to see the golf world’s reaction. Will you be reading this one?
