Jordan Spieth Wins the RBC Heritage
Despite his continued putting issues, Jordan Spieth managed to hold off Patrick Cantlay in a one-hole playoff this weekend at the RBC Heritage for his second win in a row on Easter Sunday. By the way, Masters Sunday and Easter happen to line up next season! On the playoff hole, Spieth had around 200 yards in while Cantlay had a nine iron in his hand, both from the fairway. Speith’s approach shot landed in the bunker where he proceeded to nearly hole it on his third shot. Cantlay for a moment second-guessed his club choice before committing to the nine iron and ultimately finding the bunker. The result was a brutal fried egg lie for Cantlay and he wasn’t able to get it close. This week’s win also represented Spieth’s first win on tour as a father which was a touching moment for golf viewers everywhere!

Hyo Joo Kim Wins Her Fifth LPGA Title
The Lotte Championship was held at a new venue this year, Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. The course was plagued with high winds throughout the week which made the course incredibly challenging and limited the scoring. Kim went into the final round with a three-stroke lead and was able to maintain it despite the conditions for her fifth LPGA Tour win with a score of 1-under, 71. The LPGA will head to Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles this week for the DIO Implant LA Open where they should have a more pleasant forecast.

The PGA Pro Championship
All PGA Pros know that it can be a thankless job when it comes to the daily issues that a golf course brings but one event shines a light on these men and women; the PGA Pro Championship at Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Texas. 312 PGA Professionals across the country qualified for this four-day event. After Monday, there is a cut that will include the top 90 players, after Tuesday, a cut will be made for the top 70, and the winner will be crowned on Wednesday for a large cash award. Additionally, the top 20 players are included on what’s called the ‘Team of 20’ and will be able to compete at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills this year. This is an incredible opportunity for professionals across the country to show off their skills and have their chance at competing with the best in the world.
